Otavalo enjoys a mild mountain climate throughout most of the year, with temperatures typically ranging between 10°C and 22°C. Due to its location in the Ecuadorian Andes, days are generally cool and comfortable for sightseeing, while mornings and evenings can feel noticeably colder.
What is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Otavalo is between July and September, when weather conditions are usually more favorable. While occasional rainfall is still possible, temperatures remain pleasant, making it an excellent season to explore the region’s famous markets, lakes, and Andean landscapes.
Tip: Bring a light jacket for the cooler mornings and evenings, along with sunscreen, as the Andean sun can be quite strong even on mild days.

DAY 01. Arrival in Quito / Transfer and check-in at the selected hotel. Overnight.
DAY 02. AM: Visit to the Historic Center of the city. PM: Intiñán Museum at the Middle of the World. Return to hotel. Overnight in Quito.
DAY 03. Full-day excursion to San Pablo Lake, Otavalo Market, and Cotacachi. Lunch included. Return to Quito. Overnight at selected hotel.
