Cuenca enjoys a mild and pleasant climate year-round, with an average temperature of 22°C (71°F). These conditions make it comfortable to explore the city in any season, with days that are generally cool and pleasant for walking, visiting historic sites, and enjoying outdoor activities. Due to its location in the Andes, temperatures tend to remain moderate, with neither extreme heat nor intense cold, and there is no snowfall. The months with the highest probability of rain are March, April, and May, although rainfall is usually interspersed with periods of good weather.

What is the best time to visit?

The best time to travel to Cuenca is from January through December. During this period, the temperature is pleasant and there is little rainfall, making it a good time to visit Cuenca.

Itinerary

DAY 01. Arrival in Guayaquil / Transfer to selected hotel.

DAY 02. City tour of Guayaquil: Seminario Park, Moorish Tower, Malecón 2000, Municipal Palace, Las Peñas neighborhood.PM: Visit to the Historical Park in Samborondón.

DAY 03. Full day in Cuenca with a visit to El Cajas National Park. Lunch at “Dos Chorreras” Lodge.

Overnight at selected hotel in Cuenca.

El Cajas National Park

Famous for its lakes, trails, and natural beauty.

DAY 04. Visit to an orchid farm en route to Gualaceo. Lunch at Santa Bárbara Lodge, followed by a visit to Chordeleg, in Azuay Province. Overnight in Cuenca.

DAY 05. Departure at 7:00 AM from Cuenca to Decameron Punta Centinela (All-Inclusive). Estimated arrival before noon.

DAY 06. Breakfast and check-out. Visit to the cacao farm “El Castillo.” Transfer to the airport.
