What is the weather like in Cotopaxi?
Cotopaxi enjoys a cool climate year-round due to its high elevation. Daytime temperatures typically range between 17°C and 20°C, which is generally comfortable for hiking and outdoor activities, although it can feel cooler when it is windy or cloudy. At night and during the early morning hours, temperatures may drop to around 5°C, so warm clothing is recommended.
What is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Cotopaxi is from January to May and from August to December, when rainfall is usually lower and visitors have a better chance of enjoying clear views of the volcano and the surrounding Andean landscapes.
Itinerary
DAY 01. Arrival in Quito / Transfer and check-in at the selected hotel.
DAY 02.
AM: Visit to Quito’s historic center.
PM: Intiñan Museum at the Middle of the World. Overnight in Quito.
DAY 03. Excursion to Cotopaxi National Park and Limpiopungo Lagoon. Lunch at Hacienda La Ciénega. Continue to Baños. Overnight at selected hotel.

Home to one of the country’s most representative high-mountain ecosystems.
DAY 04. Full day exploring Baños and the Route of the Waterfalls, including a visit to the city’s zoo. Overnight.
DAY 05. At the scheduled time, transfer to Quito International Airport (Tababela).
