About the destination

Located 27 km north of Santa Cruz Island, it has an area of 27 km² and a maximum altitude of 100 meters. Here is the main airport of the archipelago, which was built during the Second World War by the United States Navy to patrol the Panama Canal. During the military occupation on Baltra Island the land iguanas disappeared. Currently on the island there are 420 species of yellow iguanas or also called conolophus subcristatus, an endemic species, which were reintroduced in Baltra in the last 28 years so that they live and reproduce in their natural state.
